Coming across “ all in one box “ solutions is great. Over the past couple of years there has been a surge in webcasting packages to suit the less tech savvy users and environments.
We recently installed and commissioned Pearl Epiphan into an open events area on behalf of an AV partner of ours Worksmart Technology (they provide CLOUD telephony and Video solutions, as well as high-end AV integration solutions)
The system has multiple HD camera channels – we ended up using 3 Lumio PTZ cameras, mounted at high level onto the lighting and audio truss. The 3rd camera was mounted at high level in the Green Room. We fed the cameras through the in-house AV matrix thereby giving us the ability to route HD video from the green room onto the main events area screen and vice versa.
Let’s get down to the real functionality of this system:
It’s for recording and streaming right ? Naturally. The beauty of this system, is that is can simultaneously record (onto 3TB internal hard drive) and stream live online, and to an FTP site. What wedding venue, church, conference venue, exhibition stand or venue would not benefit from having this solution? Imagine a wedding that can’t be attended by family because they live on the other side of the world. All they have to do is just log into the stream, or a guest can walk away with a DVD recording of proceedings straight after. I’m launching a campaign immediately !!!
Webcaster X2: Possibly the coolest device ever!
Live streaming to Facebook & YouTube? The device remembers your login settings and streams. It is one of the most user friendly highly capable devices I’ve come across (assuming live streaming to Social media or You Tube is your thing).
