1. THE BRIEF

We worked with Creative Influence Alliance to showcase the London Seafood Festival. We produced bespoke truss builds with branding and supplied outdoor event equipment. Building on the previous year, we added a Crab Shack and Chef demonstration area. Both of these had full technical support.

2. THE PREFACE

Perception worked pre-site for three months before the event. Gareth, who was Account Manager for this project, has worked with our client for over 6 years. We attended site and worked out the designs for the two hero pieces of the LSF 2019. The Crab shack was a 16m x 7m x 2.5m Truss structure branded with roof.

3. THE EVENT

The event

London Seafood Festival made a splash at Battersea Power Station in June, with 5 days of seafood fun. The line up offered the chance to see award-winning chefs at work. The chef line up included Francesco Mazzei, Anna Hansen, and Neil Rankin. Emma B was our compare onsite and a friend of Perception from previous events. There were many restaurants hosting events, tastings and masterclasses.

Battersea Power Station provided the background for the 12-meter long banqueting table. The Thames location made this the perfect place to enjoy dining. We installed Truss ballasted for H&S, allowing sea-themed props to create Instagram worthy moments.

For the Chef demonstration, we went higher, bigger and brighter, creating a working kitchen for the chefs cooking live.
A 4m x 2.75m LED Wall showed the audience all over the site the 5-star cooking demo. A three-camera live relay mix of Static, Go Pro and Live Cameraman allowed the audience to catch all the action.
Commentary by Emma B was heard over the d&b System. Noise pollution for the local residents was considered with our acoustic array.

Perception had 4 people on site for 7 days rain or shine with the crew growing the team to a total of 14 on rigging day. The crew marquee became a place of joy once all the audience had tasted the chefs cooking.

4. THE FEEDBACK

The chefs’ demo and crab shack attracted record numbers of attendees to this festival. Vendors attracted record sales tempted by the large visuals and live demos onsite. We provided added value to our client through tough weather challenges. The onsite team received praise for considering noise pollution and the local community.
