About the Awards
The Sony World Photography Awards is widely recognised as the leading global photographic awards programme in existence today.
Launched in 2008, the awards are dedicated to supporting and cultivating photographic culture. Through a range of annual competitions, we hope to discover new talent in the world of photography and moving image. Whether you are just starting out or a fully-fledged professional you can enter whichever competition you believe suit your level and experience.
The annual awards gala and ceremony takes place in London, welcoming an international attendance of industry leaders to celebrate the recognition of the best in contemporary photography and each year also pays tribute to one of our masters with the Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award.
Supporting the celebration, is a month-long exhibition of the winners and finalists, comprising of hundreds of photographs expertly curated inside the historic London landmark, Somerset House.
Annual Awards Dinner 2012/ 2013
Introduced to the World Photography Organisation in 2011, originally to build premium, freestanding exhibition walling for the exhibition in Somerset House, they recognised our full capabilities and invited us to their 2011 awards at the Odeon in Leicester Square, in order to apply to tender to produce their full requirements in 2012.
Following a successful tender process, Perception Events were given an early Christmas present by winning the full contract to support the World Photography Organisation with the following aspects
Full technical audio visual support:
As it is a photographic award’s, there needed to be a big visual impact. We flew on truss a 13.4m (L) x 3m (H) Hi grain white projection screen surface, supported by 3 double stacks of 10k projectors blended together with spider software
Audio was supplied by the way of a complete D&B line array system, with lighting designed by created with intelligent spots and washes.
