In 2012 Rivington Street Festival was born and the street in Shoreditch became the setting for a day event of Live music and DJ’s spread over 2 stages, Live Art and much more. It took place on the day of the Queens Jubilee so organisers were unsure if it was going to be a hit…. but it was! It was expected that two thousand people would come to the event and they ended up with at least double that and had more than four thousand people attend.
In 2013 RSF came back bigger, better and with a big bang after being so successful in the previous year. As always Perception were there to assist in providing production and technical requirements. The 1st stage was up scaled to facilitate large full spec bands and the second DJ stage brought in the interest of Desperados as a main sponsor.
The local businesses situated down Rivington Street also got involved which included 10 venues each with their own individual music and art line ups. There was also a market area of local designers and artists, street entertainment, photo booth, pop up nail bar and barbers, fancy dress boutique and so much more….
With over six thousand people through the gate in 2013, Rivington Street Festival was once again a huge success, and it looks like it’s here to stay.
