1. THE BRIEF

The Integration team was tasked with designing a cost effective and up to date audio visual refresh solution for the main auditorium. The team specified low maintenance laser projection, renewed AV distribution hardware,  along with a cloud built control interfaced by an IPAD, as well as various tablets and mobile devices. The existing audio system was found to be more than sufficient and robust, this was utilised and built into the refreshed design proposal. This design process adhered to a strict budget whilst providing a highly functional HD quality environment liken to many higher budget systems.

2. THE INSTALL

The existing equipment rack was rebuilt and cable managed to accommodate all newly specified AV equipment. All existing cable routes were reused and redundant cable was removed. A WUXGA laser projector & 3,2m 16:9 electric screen replaced the existing XGA projector and 4:3 static screen, and was installed at high level. The existing VGA and composite video switcher was removed and replaced with an HDMI HD-BASE T matrix accompanied by an AV scaler to manage AV connectivity from the renewed floor boxes and lectern. The Barco clickshare was added directly to the matrix as an active source. K Touch control by Kramer was specified to preserve budget and allow for control interfacing by utilising by creating an AV network and converting any RS232 control interfaces into LAN. The program was built in the cloud and then interfaced via the K Touch APP onto 2 x I PAD’s, and 7 mobile telephones. This solution did not require a dedicated control processor nor touch panel for control interface.

4. THE FEEDBACK

Perceptions integration team was commended for providing a high-end system with a limited budget.
